CASE STUDY: AN ELECTRICAL LIFT REFURBISHMENT BY SHERIDAN LIFTS

We are commencing our second week of work on a 12-story building for one of our clients.

This week we are continuing to carry out a full MRL electrical refurbishment (no motor room) after some severe historic water damage to the existing equipment was causing ongoing issues for the tenants of this residential block.

We took this client on board for lift maintenance a couple of years ago and we’ve been periodically fixing the lift when issues arise.

Recently the client went ahead with our recommendation for a full refurbishment (to save on long term costs and callouts) which will see a comprehensive overhaul including a new control panel, shaft wiring, landing operating panel, landing indicator panels, car operating panel, safety edges, encoder, autodialler and car lighting.

Our chief lift technician Paul Knight (pictured) is on-site there now, so they are in very safe hands.

Paul is one of the most trusted, knowledgeable and skilful lift technicians currently working today, so much so that he regularly receives calls from other lift companies asking for his advice.

In total, we look after 3 tower blocks in Manchester for this particular client.

We’re sure you’ll agree that the last thing anybody needs in the current climate is any additional problems adding to the stress that Covid-19 is bringing, and lifts being out of action certainly provides a problem as well as an inconvenience for those people in situ. We thank them for their patience whilst this job is taking place.

We are anticipating that the job will be finished within 7 days – and indeed on 21st May, we are re-activating the lift to enable a tenant to move out of the block.
