The opportunity: Sheridan lifts are looking for a full time Accounts Assistant, who has all round experience within a busy account’s office. The role is full time, office based, Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm.
As an Accounts Assistant, you will be able to provide essential support to the Finance Team in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Credit Control.
This role is perfect for someone who already has exposure in the areas above, but who also recognises the need and has the necessary skills to be able to multi-task in what is a very busy accounts team.
The Duties:
All tasks outlined below are indicative but not exhaustive. You will be expected to undertake other finance-related tasks as the needs of the business evolve.
- Updating of Supplier data onto the companies CRM system.
- Assisting in accounts payable, including supplier setup, processing invoices; to include Purchase Order matching, inputting invoices on to Sage 200, resolving customer queries and the taking of credit card payments.
- Supporting accounts receivable, including customer setup and sales invoice processing.
- Through accurate capture and effective liaison with relevant stakeholders (Written and Orally), resolve all ongoing business queries.
- Assist in the maintenance of all office filings
- Ensure all customer details are regularly reviewed and updated in Sage 200.
- Assist, when required, with Credit Control, to include monitoring outstanding balances, following up with customers on overdue payments, and maintaining accurate debtor records.
- Assist in the maintenance of the Accounts Inbox to ensure that all entries are dealt with in a timely manner, or re-directed to the relevant individual(s) in the business best suited to deal with the enquiry.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
We expect you to be able to work under your own initiative when managing and prioritising your work requirements. You should also expect to be placed under a certain amount of pressure in the role, so the need to be able to meet targets/timescales will be required.
You should feel comfortable/confident in what you are doing, and if required, be able to reach out if the need arises.
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude to ensure financial processes are executed accurately
- Possess the ability to properly allocate/un-allocate cash using customer remittances/communications.
- The ability to work quickly and efficiently whilst under pressure to ensure all invoices are correctly inputted onto Sage 200
- A proven record of query resolution within Accounts Receivable, Account Payable and Credit Control.
- Basic understanding of financial principles.
- Possess strong Microsoft Excel experience with relevant experience with various financial software systems, preferable Sage 50/200
- Desire to learn and develop within a finance team with the ability to multi-task when necessary
- Possess excellent communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Possess strong organisational skills and have with the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
- Able to demonstrate good time-management.
