A good little story to tell you about here as we congratulate our very own Adele Ince for securing a new lift installation project at HMP Styal.
Located in the pretty Cheshire village of the same name, the prison and young offender institution is one of the most well recognised in the country and operates with a closed category status for its female inmates. Here, we will be installing two platform lifts within the visitors centre and at the gatehouse entrance point.
Talking about the contract win, Adele told us:
“This job came via an existing client of ours who we have carried out numerous successful jobs for including at the Opera House in Leeds and the Glassworks, which is part of the redevelopment of Barnsley town centre”
“The project architect specified us as the preferred lift consultant for this one about 2 years ago now and we have now had sign off for the job, which is great news”
Work is expected to commence in late 2021 for the first platform lift and the second one will be installed in the early part of 2022. Our engineers will be on site here carrying out the works.
“This job has now passed to our project managers and they will discuss the finer details of the contract with our client including any of the site restrictions that may be in place, with it being a high security prison.
“We have experience with installing across a broad range of sectors and in buildings of high security and in environments where sensitivity and a high degree of discretion is required”
We look forward to commencing the project and making these improvements for our client and for the end users at HMP Styal.
We will update you once the new lifts are installed and signed off by our client.
