Working with English Heritage, Sheridan Lifts are the chosen lift contractor in the regeneration of Grade II Listed Hornsey Town Hall in North London. Works will be commencing on site soon and are being overseen by our Project Manager Mas’ud Mallick.
The new multi-purpose conversion will see an arts centre and hotel constructed within the hall itself and a series of stylish apartments within the grounds. A cinema and cafe will also be added.
Of course, we will be installing new lifts (9 units in total) across multiple locations on site.
We have step lifts, platform lifts (including a 2000kg one), new passenger lifts with bespoke finishes and two existing lifts that are being designed bespoke to suit the existing building. English Heritage have requested that the look of those lifts do not change.
Our Major Projects Sales Manager Matt Marinangeli commented:
“This is an exciting project for us to be involved with, and one that will breathe new life into the old Hornsey Town Hall, re-purposing it for both hosuing and leisure usage.
“Projects like these are hugely satisfying when they reach the stage of completion, as is seeing the transformation take place over time culminating in this historic building being able to serve the community once again”
The first lift is being dispatched in the second week of June meaning that works here will begin soon afterwards.
Projects like these are not alien to us. Indeed, we are adept with working in Grade II Listed buildings like this one, and you can read more about those processes via our blog here.
